Connecting your own domain

Your workspace starts on a yourteam.getinboxchat.com address that's great for trying msgok. To send and receive from your real domain (e.g. support@acme.com), connect it. msgok runs on Cloudflare, so connecting means pointing your domain — or just a slice of it — to Cloudflare, and we handle all the email setup (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) for you.

Option A — use a subdomain (recommended, least disruptive). Keep your website and existing email exactly as they are and give msgok a slice like mail.acme.com. Addresses become support@mail.acme.com.

  1. In msgok open Domains and enter the subdomain (e.g. mail.acme.com).
  2. We show you two nameserver names. Wherever acme.com's DNS lives, add two NS records for the label mail pointing to them.
  3. Nothing else on acme.com changes. We detect it (usually within an hour) and automatically turn on receiving and sending.

Option B — use your whole domain. For clean addresses like support@acme.com, move the domain's DNS to Cloudflare.

  1. In msgok open Domains and enter your domain (e.g. acme.com).
  2. We show you two nameservers. At your registrar, replace the current nameservers with these two.
  3. We import your existing DNS so your website keeps working, then enable receiving and sending. Changeover can take a few hours.

Once the domain shows Active, create mailboxes on it just like the built-in address — both receiving and sending work, with authentication added for you.

Not sure which to pick? Start with Option A — it can't disrupt your existing website or email.
